 Thai Library Integrated System (ThaiLIS)& project nbsp;

 

        ThaiLIS is the project that connects the central university library network (Thai Library Network - Metropolitan : Thailinet), the Provincial University Library Network (Pulinet) and the Office of the Permanent Secretary for the Ministry of University Affairs together on the UniNet network in order to expand the network to the library networks of higher education institutions under other agencies. and other types of libraries in the future. The networks include the following:


1. Thai Digital Collection (TDC)
        TDC or Thai Digital Collection is one of ThaiLIS projects aiming to provide full version documents database searching services. which contains the full version of the thesis and research papers of professors collected from various universities across the country. Students, Teachers and Staff must access the service from a computer inside the library of the members.  
        The current operation has migrated data from the old systems to the new system. and has provided training on how to input information into the system for the new members, such as private universities and other agencies. With the focus of educating and disseminating various works to the society, so that the society can apply these new knowledge to build upon the old knowledge, and further develop the country.

2. Union Catalog (UC)
        UCTAL is the bibliography library of the Office of the Higher Education Commission of Thailand, resulting from the cooperation of the libraries of the Office of the Higher Education Commission.

3. Reference Database
        The project provides an online database search from other countries in order to provide resources of the same standard, and an access to information, as well as, full version of the academic journals conveniently and quickly through The Information Network for Educational Development UniNet,The Office of Information Technology for Education Development, Office of the Higher Education Commission. The service databases provided consists of 14 Databases.
        As for ScienceDirect Database, 24 universities/institutions are cooperating to continuously subscribe to the printed version (volume)of the journals.However, the universities/institutions will be responsible for the expenses from those to which the Office of the Higher Education Commission didn’t subscribe.

4. Software Automated Library
        An automated library system developed. for educational institutions under the Ministry of Education to use The objective is to reduce the cost of purchasing automatic library software. and maintenance costs to universities/institutes Rajabhat University Rajamangala University of Technology and to support the expansion of Various colleges, schools and other departments under the Ministry of Education.
